Straight Line ERPS Network over Fiber
Daisy chain is one of the easiest networks to connect multiple switches in a linear structure. It’s cheap to install and requires minimal cabling But if one switch fails in the linear daisy chain topology, all the switches beyond it will be affected. And the entire network needs to be taken offline for maintenance, which inevitably increases network downtime. The best way to address this problem is to create a redundant fiber link by connecting the initial network switch to the final one, namely ring daisy chain topology, which allows data to be sent in both directions so as to prevent a single failure from cutting off the entire system. Fastcabling has launched a series of ERPS-supported industrial network switches that allow messages to be transmitted in a closed loop and enable fast recovery of less than 20 msec to preserve max. network uptime for critical applications like surveillance, power, automated facilities, etc.
